Parade Information
The Monmouth-Independence Rotary Club Grand Parade is held annually on July 4th. It's route is approximately 3 miles long, beginning at Western Oregon University in Monmouth, and traveling through Monmouth and Independence on Main and Monmouth Streets to Riverview Park where it ends. A childrens parade begins at 11:00 AM, and a fun-run begins at 11:30. The Grand Parade begins at noon.
There will be a Grand Ribbon awarded for the Most Patriotic entry, and there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards presented for each of the following categories:
- Best Youth Entry
- Best Youth Equestrian
- Best Equestrian Entry
- Best Float
- Most Effort in Preparation
- Highway Trucks
- Farm Equipment *
- Modern Vehicles *
- Antique Vehicles (1961 & earlier) *
* These categories will be judged on cleanliness and decorations.
